The objective of this event is to bring the community together to celebrate David’s life and to raise money to support other Navy SEALs and military who are currently deployed by sending care packages once a year filled with food, clothing and any other needs they may have. Proceeds will also go to youth soccer scholarships, The David Warsen Service Scholarship which will given to two East Kentwood Senior Athletes, and Acts of Kindness, Random or other. Parking:
There are two entrances to the Pat Patterson Athletic Complex:
1.) 44th street entrance to Crestwood Middle School - drive around to the back
2.) Entrance from Walma Ave - take the drive around to the field
**Main parking will be in the lot right next to the athletic complex; Back-up parking will be located right behind Crestwood Middle School (see 5K run course map below for reference)
There will be volunteers to help with parking.
PLEASE PRE-REGISTER ONLINE
We strongly encourage pre-registering online, due to distance between parking and event. We can NOT guarantee you will receive a t-shirt if you register the day of the event. You may pick up your pre-registered packet at the registration tent the day of the event. ( details below on other pick up times)
5K Run & Hero Walk Starting Area
Starting lines for both Run & Walk will be located inside the Pat Patterson Athletic Complex. Please be in the Opening Ceremony Area by 9:45 am if you are Pre-Registered. If you register the day of the run, the Registration tent is directly adjacent to the start, in the same area from 8am-9:30am.
Run & Walk will end in the same place as the Starting Line; please go onto the soccer field until the Awards Ceremony at 10:55am
Awards Ceremony will include a group photo & special balloon send off to David at 11:11am!
DON'T FORGET TO COME TO OUR AWESOME AFTER PARTY AT PEPPINO'S SOUTH!

5K Run Route
*Please keep in mind that this is a cross country trail so the course will be mostly on grass & a dirt trail through the grounds. We do not advise pushing strollers through this course.
Hero Walk Route - 1.5 Mile
The David Warsen Legacy 1.5 Mile Hero Walk will take place on the track of Pat Patterson Athletic Complex this year! All walkers will begin in the same starting area as the runners & walk into the track. You will then walk around the track 4 times. We will have music playing in the stadium and you can check out all of the pictures & flags honoring our Fallen Heroes, Currently Serving Military Heroes & Veteran Heroes.
